Salmon Family has reached 1.0!
Sure, it launched nearly three months ago after many rounds of revisions. But I felt I needed a tiny bit more feedback and hindsight before I could consider it "finished", hence the 0.9 version number until now.
So, what has changed since? In a nutshell: many tiny fixes, and a few stylistic changes.
The most important stylistic change is completely reworked parentheses. Initially I tried to give variants their own identity, and went a bit too far with parentheses. Some where straightforward, some more quirky. Some had a very round shape, some looked almost like brackets. Style also changed across font weights. As a result parentheses were all over the place.
One of the design goals for Salmon was that different variants would not only look good, but also feel like a family. Parentheses worked against that instead of being part of the core structure for the whole family.
In 1.0 parentheses are now really consistent. You can confidentely use them in any variants together, they will not feel alien nor be confused with brackets anymore.
