Salmon is a versatile family of pixel fonts that includes four styles in multiple weights:
- Salmon Serif looks rational and authoritative;
- Salmon Sans is smooth and modern;
- Salmon Mono and Duo’s rawness will serve you for much more than code;
- Salmon Serif Narrow fits in the tiniest spaces.

Salmon's font size is 9 px. Lowercase letters are 5 pixels high:

hello!! great work on this font! i use it for a lot!
i was curious if an italics+italic bold variant would ever be considered? i use italics a lot and it's the one thing i find myself missing pretty sorely :)
Hey! Thank you! I would love to add italics, and even did some tests in Aseprite. That said, with 13 variants right now this would be a massive undertaking, so I don't make any promise :)

Hey Phildjii. I love the Salmon family and use it in my game. I've started translating the game to other languages, and for the most part that's working out fine. But it seems there are some issues with Polish characters. I'm wondering if that's one of the officially supported languages?

Polish is not covered at the moment. To see which languages are, you can check the list in Salmon's ABOUT.pdf file.
Polish is a language I'd like to cover though, this could be a good opportunity. Can't give an ETA, Polish mainly requires some accents added to a few letters, but it has to be done in 13 fonts…
By any chance, do you know Polish players who may test a first version?

Yes, I do in fact have at least one Polish player. Possibly more, but only one that I know of for sure. He's helping me with the translation on my discord.

Hi! As the others already said, thank you for creating this font family! It ended my hour long search for a pixel font which matched my requirements. I'm currently using this font (especially serif sans) for a bigger project.
Two requests:
1) Is it possible that you could provide these fonts in a bitmap format or as a tileset?
2) Firstly, I know this is an insane ask, but I thought asking couldn't hurt. Is there any chance on expanding this font (e.g. the serif sans version) with japanese characters? I'm currently brainstorming on how I'm going to support japanese on my project and I came across fusion pixel font. The 8px, 10px and 12px font variants are sadly not compatible with your 9px/11px font, which would require me adjusting all UI components, because are all made with this pixel height in mind.
I know this way too much work for just pleasing someone who paid 7$ for a font. Providing a tileset/bitmap would be more than enough, because it would aid me greatly on adding japanese characters myself. Thanks again for your work :)

1) That may be doable, can you tell me more about your tilemap specs? At the moment my fonts are actually drawn as a tilemap in Aseprite then exported to TTF with Pixel Font Converter.
2) As much as I would love to expand with other scripts, it is very hard when one is not familiar with them. I learned some Japanese and Hiragana 20 years ago but forgot everything, I'm afraid that won't get me far :)
Your best bet is to find a matching font. On this Japanese pixel fonts page I think the one named M+ BITMAP FONTS might fit your needs? Or by the look of it, maybe LanaPixel even if it says 11px?

I don't really have a tilemap to share specs with. Everything can be dynamically adjusted, the real problem lies in padding/margins etc.
The Japanese characters can become off-center because of the different heights. I would greatly appreciate it if you could bundle your aforementioned tilemap in the salmon-family.zip file.
